Miles Overview
The Sportage is Kia's compact crossover, the one you'll cross-shop with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. It steers crisply and feels smaller than it is, which makes it easy to park and fun on a back road. The ride is on the firm side, and cabin noise picks up at highway speeds, but the seats stay comfortable for long trips. Cargo space is a bit tight for the class, though the rear seats fold flat to stretch it out. It pairs a 2.0L I4 with a six-speed automatic for 260 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, good for 22 mpg combined. Only the SX gets the sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch wheels that sharpen the handling feel.
