Miles Overview
The Sportage is Kia's small SUV, a budget-friendly pick that competes with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. It's nimble in town and easy to park, though the base engine feels a bit underwhelming on the highway. The cabin is roomier than you'd expect, with a big cargo area and a handy glass hatch that opens separately. Owners mention the light interior shows dirt fast, and the decals can peel over time. Stepping up to the LX V6 swaps the base four-cylinder for the 2.7L V6 and adds four-wheel drive, giving you a noticeable punch when merging or pulling away from a stop. Paired with the automatic transmission, the V6 makes the Sportage feel genuinely eager around town, though fuel economy dips to 19 mpg combined.
