Miles Overview
The 2016 Genesis is Hyundai's flagship sedan, a big rear-drive luxury car that undercuts the Germans on price. It's a smooth, quiet cruiser with plenty of power, and the ride is comfortable rather than sporty. Inside, you get a spacious cabin with soft leather, a big touchscreen, and a huge trunk that swallows two strollers. Owners report few problems, though the dash can crack in extreme heat and the rear AC is slow to cool. This is the base Genesis, so you skip the V8 and all-wheel drive of the 5.0 Ultimate, but you still get the same quiet cabin and big trunk for thousands less. The 3.8L V6 makes 348 horsepower, and the eight-speed automatic shifts smoothly, delivering 22 mpg combined on regular fuel.
