Miles Overview
The 2017 Elantra is Hyundai's compact sedan, offered in a range of trims from the efficient ECO to the sporty Sport, all with front-wheel drive. It competes with the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Ford Focus, aiming to match them on value and features. The Elantra handles competently with responsive steering, and the ride is composed on most roads, though the low stance can feel firm over rough surfaces. Inside, the cabin is roomy for the class, with a clean dashboard layout and available touchscreen infotainment that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A stiffer suspension and a six-speed manual set the Sport apart from the ECO and Limited trims below and above it. The 1.6L I4 makes 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, which gives the Sport a noticeably stronger pull than the standard Elantra, though you'll trade some fuel economy at 25 mpg combined. The Sport's firmer suspension and quicker steering make it the choice if you want a compact sedan that feels eager through corners.
