Miles Overview
The 2023 Kona is a subcompact crossover that slots below the Tucson in Hyundai's SUV lineup. It competes with the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-30, and Toyota Corolla Cross. The Kona feels eager and light on its feet, with quick steering that makes it fun in the city. The cabin is well laid out with supportive seats, though rear legroom is tight for adults. The SEL adds proximity key entry, push-button start, and blind-spot monitoring over the base SE. Its 2.0L I4 makes 147 horsepower and pairs with a CVT, delivering 30 mpg combined. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is optional on the SEL for extra traction.
