Miles Overview
The Kona is Hyundai's subcompact crossover, the smallest SUV in the lineup and a direct rival to the Honda HR-V and Toyota C-HR. With its short wheelbase and eager steering, the Kona feels nimble and fun to toss around town. The ride is firm but composed, and the cabin stays reasonably quiet at highway speeds. The cabin is snug for four adults, and cargo space is tight, but the front seats are comfortable and the controls are simple. The SEL is the mid-grade Kona, adding convenience features like blind-spot monitoring and a larger touchscreen that the base SE lacks. Its 2.0L I4 makes 147 horsepower and works with a six-speed automatic, which feels responsive around town and returns 30 mpg combined.
