Miles Overview
The Kona is Hyundai's subcompact crossover, the smallest SUV in the lineup and a direct rival to the Honda HR-V and Toyota C-HR. With its short wheelbase and eager steering, the Kona feels nimble and fun to toss around town. The ride is firm but composed, and the cabin stays reasonably quiet at highway speeds. The cabin is snug for four adults, and cargo space is tight, but the front seats are comfortable and the controls are simple. The SE is the base Kona, skipping the SEL's extra convenience features but keeping the same 2.0L I4 and six-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is available on the SE for a small upcharge, adding traction in snow or mud without changing the powertrain.
