Miles Overview
The 2021 Tucson is a compact SUV that slots below the Santa Fe, offering a roomy cabin and a long list of standard features for its class. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Mazda CX-5, standing out with its generous warranty and value-oriented pricing. The Tucson rides comfortably and handles predictably, making it an easy vehicle to drive around town, though the base engine can feel sluggish when merging. Inside, the Tucson offers a spacious interior with plenty of cargo room, but lower trims use some hard plastics that feel less upscale. Hyundai SmartSense comes standard, bundling forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, and blind spot monitoring across the lineup. A larger touchscreen, leather upholstery, and a power liftgate set the Ultimate apart from the Tucson trims below it. The 2.4L I4 makes 181 horsepower and pairs with an automatic transmission, which gives the Tucson enough power for daily driving but not much passing punch on the highway. Only the Ultimate offers a hands-free smart power liftgate, so you can open the trunk with a wave of your foot when your hands are full.
