Miles Overview
The 2020 Tucson is Hyundai's compact SUV, slotting between the smaller Kona and the larger Santa Fe. The Tucson handles confidently and steers precisely, though the base engine feels leisurely under hard acceleration. The cabin offers generous passenger space and a straightforward infotainment system, but lower trims use hard plastics. Standard safety tech includes forward collision warning and lane keeping assist, with blind spot monitoring available. Hyundai's long warranty and strong predicted reliability ratings make the Tucson a low-stress ownership prospect. Stepping up to the Ultimate adds the larger 2.4L I4 and a generous list of comfort and tech features that the SEL leaves optional. The 2.4L I4 makes 181 horsepower and pairs with a seven-speed automatic, giving the Tucson noticeably stronger passing power than the base 2.0-liter, though it returns 25 mpg combined.
