Miles Overview
The Encore is Buick's smallest SUV, a subcompact that's easy to park and maneuver in the city. It handles nimbly around town, though the base engine feels a bit underpowered on the highway. Inside, the cabin is nicely appointed for the class, with comfortable seats and a user-friendly infotainment system. Fold the rear seats and you can fit golf clubs or a bike, and the compact dimensions make tight parking spots a breeze. The Essence trim adds niceties like heated front seats and a power sunroof over the Sport Touring, making it the top-tier Encore for comfort. Under the hood is a 1.4L I4 with 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, returning 27 mpg combined. The Essence also offers a hands-free power liftgate, which is handy when your hands are full of groceries.
