Miles Overview
The RAV4 is Toyota's compact SUV, a practical choice that competes with the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape. It handles nimbly and feels light on its feet, making it easy to maneuver in tight spots and park in crowded lots. Inside, you get a roomy cabin with generous legroom and a large cargo area, plus a handy extra trunk compartment. Owners report that this generation is durable and dependable, though some mention squeaks and recalls as minor annoyances. This base RAV4 skips the third-row seat you can get on the next trim up, which saves weight and frees up more cargo depth. Its 2.4L I4 makes 166 horsepower and pairs with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, easy around town but eager for more on the highway. Expect 22 mpg combined here, which trails the front-drive version slightly but adds confidence in slippery weather.
