The tC is Scion's compact hatchback, a sporty two-door that competes with the Honda Civic Si and VW GTI for buyers who want style and fun on a budget. It's a front-drive car that feels eager and nimble, with a willing engine and a chassis that encourages a quick pace on back roads. The ride is on the firm side, which is the trade for how flat it stays through corners, but it settles down nicely on the highway. The hatchback body gives you a surprisingly useful cargo area, and the rear seats fold flat for hauling bulky items.
