Miles Overview
The 2023 GX 460 is a body-on-frame luxury SUV, a rarity in a segment that has mostly gone unibody. It lines up against the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Land Rover Discovery, and the Mercedes-Benz GLE. The GX drives with a relaxed, truck-like gait, and its V8 gives it confident passing power on the highway. The ride is firm over broken pavement, the price of its off-road-ready suspension, but the cabin stays hushed. Inside, the GX offers a high seating position and a straightforward layout, though cargo space trails most rivals. The base GX 460 is for buyers who want the same V8, off-road chassis, and four-wheel drive as the Premium without the leather or upgraded audio. Its 4.6L V8 makes 301 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, giving it relaxed highway cruising, though the 16 mpg combined is the trade for that old-school powertrain.
