Miles Overview
The RX 300 is the compact luxury SUV that Lexus built its crossover reputation on, and it's still a comfortable, well-made choice today. It's smooth and quiet on the road, with a ride that soaks up bumps without fuss, though it's not a sporty handler. The cabin is a quiet, nicely finished place, and the rear seat folds flat to open up a generous cargo area. This generation has a strong reputation for reliability, with many examples still running strong well past 200,000 miles. All-wheel drive is what sets the 300 apart from the base RX, giving you confident traction in rain or light snow. Its 3.0L V6 makes 184 horsepower and works with a automatic transmission, which is adequate for daily driving but never feels quick. With all-wheel drive and 18 mpg combined, you trade a bit of fuel economy for the extra grip that makes this RX feel planted on slippery roads.
