Miles Overview
The GX is Lexus's body-on-frame SUV, the one that still feels like a proper truck underneath the luxury. The ride is on the firm side over broken pavement, but it's quiet and composed on the highway. Inside, the cabin is a mix of old-school buttons and high-quality materials, with room for seven and a real third row. The Base trim is the straightforward choice for buyers who want the GX's off-road capability and V8 without the Luxury's air suspension and upgraded leather. The 4.6L V8 makes 301 horsepower and 329 lb-ft of torque, routed through a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that feels deliberate but sure-footed on loose surfaces. The Base rides on a coil-spring suspension that gives a slightly firmer feel than the Luxury's air setup, which some owners prefer for towing consistency.
