Miles Overview
The 2012 IS is Lexus's compact sport sedan, offered here as a convertible that trades the coupe's roof for open-air driving. The cabin is snug but well crafted, with quality materials and comfortable front seats, though rear legroom is tight. Lexus's reputation for reliability carries over here, so you can expect the IS to be a dependable daily driver. Choosing the convertible adds powered automatic cloth top operation and a glass rear window with defogger over the coupe. A 3.5L V6 paired with automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive moves this IS, and at 22 mpg combined it's reasonable for a drop-top. The roof powers up or down at speeds up to 25 mph, so you can drop the top without stopping at a light.
