Miles Overview
The IS is Lexus's compact sport sedan, the one that goes up against the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. It's a sharp handler with quick steering and a firm, controlled ride, so it feels eager on a back road. The cabin is nicely trimmed, but the back seat is snug and the trunk is modest for the class. The touchscreen infotainment is easy to use, and the standard safety suite includes adaptive cruise and lane-keeping assist. The Comfort trim adds heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and blind-spot monitoring over the base IS 300. Its 3.5L V6 makes 260 horsepower and sends power to all four wheels through an automatic transmission, which gives you confident traction in wet or snowy weather. The trade-off for the AWD grip is fuel economy of 22 mpg combined, a few mpg below the rear-drive version.
