Miles Overview
The IS 300 is Lexus's compact sport sedan and wagon, aimed squarely at the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. The cabin is snug but well built, with supportive seats and an optional chronograph-style gauge cluster that adds character. The sedan's trunk is modest, but the SportCross wagon offers real cargo versatility without losing any of the driving fun. Rear-wheel drive and a 3.0L inline-six mark the IS 300 as the enthusiast's pick in Lexus's compact lineup, leaving the front-drive ES 330 for buyers who prioritize comfort over cornering. The 3.0L I6 makes 215 horsepower and pairs with a automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels for a balanced, engaging feel that rivals the BMW 3 Series of the era. An optional five-speed manual transmission transforms the IS 300 into a more involving driver's car, though automatic examples are far more common on the used market.
