Miles Overview
The 4Runner is Toyota's rugged, body-on-frame SUV, the one that still feels like a proper truck. On the highway it cruises comfortably, but the ride is firm and the steering is a bit vague, which is the trade-off for its off-road capability. Inside, you get a roomy cabin with an available third row that folds flat, and the seats are comfortable for long trips. Owners report few problems beyond normal wear, and many say it's one of the most dependable SUVs you can buy. The SR5 gives up the Limited's leather and premium audio, but keeps the same rugged body-on-frame chassis and costs thousands less. Its 4.0L V6 makes 270 horsepower and pairs with a automatic transmission, which is enough grunt for daily driving and towing a small trailer. This rear-wheel-drive SR5 is the lighter, more fuel-efficient choice if you don't need the 4WD version's off-road hardware.
