Miles Overview
The 2005 Land Cruiser is Toyota's full-size SUV, the one that's been the go-to for serious off-roading and heavy towing for decades. On the road it feels substantial and planted, with a ride that soaks up bumps easily, though the steering is a bit vague and the body rolls in corners. Inside, the cabin is roomy and straightforward, with comfortable seats for seven and a cargo area that swallows gear without fuss. The Land Cruiser has a legendary reputation for reliability, with many examples still going strong well past 200,000 miles. The VX is the sole trim for the 2005 Land Cruiser, so it's the one you get, with all the standard kit and no options to worry about. Under the hood is a 4.7L V8 with 227 horsepower, paired with an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, giving it strong pulling power for towing and off-road work. Expect 13 mpg combined, which is typical for a full-size SUV of this era, so plan for frequent fuel stops on long trips.
