Miles Overview
The 4Runner is Toyota's rugged mid-size SUV, a body-on-frame truck that's built for off-road duty and long-term ownership. It's one of the last true SUVs you can buy, with a solid rear axle and a low-range transfer case that make it genuinely capable on trails. The ride is on the firm side, a trade-off for that truck-like durability, but the seats are comfortable and the cabin is roomy. Inside, you get a straightforward dashboard with big controls, and the rear seats fold flat to open up a generous cargo area. The SR5 gives you the same 4.0L V6 and four-wheel drive as the Trail, but with more comfort features like keyless entry and a power driver's seat. The 4.0L V6 makes 270 horsepower and pairs with a automatic transmission, giving you enough grunt to merge onto highways or crawl up a rocky trail without breaking a sweat.
