The Prius V is Toyota's wagon version of the standard Prius, stretching the hatchback into a roomier family hauler. It drives with the same calm, efficient character as the regular Prius, though the extra length makes it feel a bit more planted on the highway. Inside, you get a tall, airy cabin with plenty of headroom, and the rear seats fold flat to swallow bulky cargo. The Three is the base trim of the Prius V lineup, and it gives you the same hybrid powertrain and cavernous cargo space as the pricier Five, just with fewer standard convenience features. Its 1.8L I4 hybrid makes 98 horsepower and pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission, which keeps the engine humming at its most efficient rpm for 42 mpg combined. The Three rides on 16-inch steel wheels and doesn't come with a navigation screen, but you do get a standard rearview camera and Bluetooth connectivity.
