Miles Overview
The 2021 Prius is the hatchback that made hybrids mainstream, and it still competes with the Insight and Ioniq for efficiency-minded buyers. The cabin is surprisingly roomy for a compact hatch, with comfortable seats and a large cargo area that swallows groceries or luggage. Some owners note the infotainment system is dated and lacks Apple CarPlay, and the engine can emit a buzzing noise under load. The lightest curb weight and the most efficient aero tweaks set the L Eco apart from the rest of the Prius lineup. Its 1.8L I4 hybrid makes 96 horsepower and works with a automatic transmission in front-wheel drive, which returns the highest EPA fuel economy of any Prius that year. The L Eco skips the bigger touchscreen and some sound deadening found on the LE, so expect a slightly louder cabin on the highway.
