Miles Overview
The 2013 Yaris is Toyota's subcompact hatchback, the one you cross-shop with the Honda Fit and Ford Fiesta when you want something small and easy to park. It's light and nimble, so it darts through city traffic and slips into tight spots, though it takes its time getting up to highway speed. The hatchback opens to a surprisingly roomy cargo area, and folding the rear seats flat lets you haul more than you'd expect from a car this size. Owners report the Yaris is dependable and cheap to run, with only minor gripes like a quirky single wiper and a rear seat that's tight for adults. Its 1.5L I4 makes 106 horsepower and pairs with a four-speed automatic, which is fine for puttering around town but means the engine works hard to merge on the highway.
