Miles Overview
The Yaris is Toyota's entry-level subcompact, offered as a hatchback or sedan for buyers who want maximum economy and easy parking. It's light and nimble around town, though acceleration is leisurely and crosswinds can push it around on the highway. The cabin is basic but clever, with a center-mounted gauge cluster and a rear seat that folds nearly flat for extra cargo space. Owners report the Yaris is very reliable, with many going years without major issues, though some note the paint chips easily and tires wear quickly. The sedan body style adds a trunk and four doors, making it more practical than the hatchback for carrying luggage or rear passengers. Its 1.5L I4 makes 106 horsepower and drives the front-wheel drive through a five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic, which is adequate for city driving but needs planning for highway merging.
