Miles Overview
The 4Runner is Toyota's body-on-frame SUV, the one that feels more like a truck than a car-based crossover. It drives with that old-school truck character, which means a firm ride and a commanding view of the road. The cabin is basic but functional, with a rear window that rolls down and a handy side compartment in the cargo area. Owners report that with regular maintenance, these 4Runners easily surpass 200,000 miles, though the paint can fade on the hood and roof. The SR5 adds a chrome grille, color-keyed bumpers, and upgraded cloth seats over the base model, while skipping the Limited's leather and wood trim. Its 3.4L V6 makes 183 horsepower and pairs with four-wheel drive, giving you confident traction on loose trails and in snow, though the 16 mpg combined fuel economy is a trade-off for that capability.
