2023 Nissan Armada SL

The 2023 Armada is Nissan's full-size, body-on-frame SUV, slotting above the Pathfinder and competing with the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and Toyota Sequoia. The V8 gives the Armada strong passing power, and the ride is composed for a truck-based SUV, though fuel economy is on the low side. The cabin is roomy for up to eight, with a spacious third row and generous cargo space behind it. Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Nissan Safety Shield 360. The Armada's traditional V8 and conventional automatic transmission give it a reputation for durability, even if the platform is aging. The SL splits the difference between the base SV and the luxury-focused Platinum, adding leather upholstery and a power liftgate. Its 5.6L V8 makes 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, routed through a seven-speed automatic to the rear-wheel drive, and returns 16 mpg combined. The SL's available Captain's Chairs replace the standard second-row bench, dropping seating from eight to seven but adding easier access to the third row.
