Miles Overview
The CX-9 is Mazda's three-row family SUV, the one you cross-shop with the Highlander and Pilot when you want something that actually drives well. It's genuinely fun to drive for a big SUV, with sharp steering and a chassis that stays composed through corners. The cabin feels upscale, especially in the Signature trim with its Nappa leather and real wood trim, and the third row is roomy enough for adults on shorter trips. Cargo space shrinks noticeably with the third row up, so plan for a roof box if you're hauling a full family and luggage. Stepping up to the Grand Touring from the Touring adds the bigger 9-inch touchscreen, a Bose audio system, and LED headlights with auto-leveling. The 2.5L I4 makes 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that feel responsive and well-matched to the CX-9's weight.
