Miles Overview
The 2016 CX-9 is Mazda's three-row family SUV, sized to carry seven when you need the extra seats. It drives more like a sporty sedan than a big SUV, with quick steering and a firm, controlled ride. The cabin feels upscale for the price, with soft-touch materials and comfortable seats up front. The third row is best for kids, and cargo space trails some rivals, but the seats fold flat when you need room. The Grand Touring adds leather upholstery, a power moonroof, and the larger 7-inch touchscreen over the Touring trim. Its 2.5L I4 makes 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, routed through a six-speed automatic to front-wheel drive, and returns 25 mpg combined.
