2012 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring

The CX-9 is Mazda's three-row SUV, the one you'd cross-shop with a Pilot or Highlander if you need room for seven. It drives with a car-like feel that's rare in this size, so it doesn't wallow like you'd expect from a big family hauler. The third row is genuinely usable for adults on shorter trips, and the middle row slides to make getting back there easier. Expect to visit the pump more often than in a smaller crossover, but that's the price of this much space and capability. The Grand Touring is the top trim, adding leather upholstery, a Bose audio system, and a power liftgate over the Touring, with no mechanical changes. Its 3.7L V6 makes 273 horsepower and works with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which gives it confident passing power even when fully loaded.
