The 2024 CX-90 is Mazda's three-row flagship SUV, slotting above the CX-50 and CX-5 in the lineup. It competes with the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, and Toyota Grand Highlander, but with a more driver-focused character. The CX-90 handles with a poise unusual for a three-row SUV, with direct steering and a taut chassis that keeps body motion in check. The cabin is trimmed with upscale materials and offers comfortable seating for up to eight, though the third row is best for kids. Standard tech includes a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a full suite of driver assists. A plug-in hybrid powertrain and a higher price tag mark the Premium Plus as the range-topping PHEV, sitting above the standard Preferred PHEV. Its 2.5L I4 plug-in hybrid makes 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, good for an EPA-rated 25 mpg combined and an estimated 26 miles of all-electric range. The Premium Plus adds ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 360-degree camera with see-through view that the Preferred PHEV doesn't offer.
