The CX-90 is Mazda's three-row family SUV, slotting above the CX-50 and taking on the Honda Pilot and Kia Telluride. The CX-90 handles with the poise of a smaller Mazda, its steering and chassis making it one of the more engaging three-row SUVs to drive. The ride is firm and controlled, which keeps body motions in check but means you feel sharper pavement more than in some rivals. Inside, the CX-90 offers a premium cabin with upscale materials and a clean dashboard, plus seating for up to eight in some configurations. The plug-in hybrid powertrain makes 189 horsepower and is rated at 26 mpg combined, so around-town driving can be largely electric. With seven seats as standard, the Premium Sport trades the second-row captain's chairs of some trims for a three-passenger bench.
