2022 Mazda CX-5 Premium

The 2022 CX-5 is Mazda's compact SUV, slotting between the smaller CX-30 and the three-row CX-9. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Subaru Forester, but aims for a more premium feel. The CX-5 is known for its sharp steering and composed handling, making it one of the more engaging compact SUVs to drive. Inside, the cabin is upscale with quality materials, but rear legroom and cargo space are tighter than some rivals. Standard safety tech includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Stepping up to the Premium adds leather upholstery, a power moonroof, and a Bose sound system over the Preferred trim. Its 2.5L I4 makes 187 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, returning 26 mpg combined. The Premium rides on 19-inch wheels and includes paddle shifters for manual control of the transmission.
