Miles Overview
The 2018 CX-5 is a compact SUV that blends sharp styling with a driver-focused character, competing with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. The CX-5 steers crisply and feels agile for its size, making it one of the more engaging compact SUVs to drive. The ride is firm but well-controlled, and road noise is noticeable at highway speeds, a trade-off for its sporty demeanor. Inside, the cabin is upscale with quality materials, and the rear seats offer decent space, though the middle seat has a lumpy foot area. Standard tech includes a rearview camera and Bluetooth, while higher trims add a clear touchscreen, blind-spot monitoring, and Bose audio. The Touring adds leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control, and blind-spot monitoring over the Sport, while skipping the Grand Touring's leather and Bose audio. Its 2.5L I4 makes 187 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic that shifts smoothly, and this AWD version returns 26 mpg combined. The Touring comes with 19-inch wheels and LED headlights as standard, giving it a sharper look than the base car without the premium price.
