Miles Overview
The CX-5 is Mazda's compact SUV, the one that's often cross-shopped with the RAV4 and CR-V. It's one of the more engaging small SUVs to drive, with quick steering and a chassis that feels eager in corners. The interior looks upscale for the price, though the back seat is snug and road noise is noticeable at highway speeds. Fold the rear seats and there's room for a bicycle, and the hatch opening makes loading gear easy. Stepping up to the Touring from the Sport adds leatherette seats, heated front seats, a power driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The 2.5L I4 makes 187 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, and with all-wheel drive it returns 26 mpg combined. The Touring's available i-ACTIV all-wheel drive adds grip in rain and snow without hurting the CX-5's eager handling character.
