Miles Overview
The 2014 CX-5 is Mazda's compact SUV, the one that feels more like a sporty hatchback than a typical family hauler. It's genuinely fun to hustle down a back road, with quick steering and a chassis that stays flat through corners. The back seat is snug for adults, but fold it flat and there's room for a bike or a load of camping gear. Owners report few problems beyond a liftgate recall, and routine maintenance stays cheap and infrequent. The Sport is the CX-5's base trim, but it still gives you sharp handling and the option of all-wheel drive without stepping up to the Touring. The 2.0L I4 makes 155 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, which is enough for daily driving but you'll want to keep the revs up on hills.
