Miles Overview
The MX-5 Miata is Mazda's lightweight two-seat roadster, the car you cross-shop with the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 if you want drop-top fun. It's a joy to drive fast or slow, with a rev-happy engine and a gearbox that feels like it was made for your hand. The ride is firm and the cabin is snug, which is the trade for how connected you feel to the road. Cargo space is minimal, but the trunk fits a couple of overnight bags and the soft top folds easily for open-air driving. The Grand Touring sits above the Sport and Club trims, adding leather seats and extra interior comfort for daily driving. Its 2.0L I4 makes 181 horsepower, routed through a six-speed manual to the rear wheels, and returns 29 mpg combined. This trim alone offers heated seats and a nine-speaker Bose audio system, making it the most road-trip-ready Miata.
