Miles Overview
The Mazda5 is a compact wagon that seats six, a rare middle ground between a car and a minivan. It drives more like a car than a van, with quick steering and a willing engine that makes it fun in town. The sliding rear doors make getting kids in and out easy, and the third row folds flat to open up cargo space. Owners note the third row is tight for adults and the tires wear quickly, but few report major mechanical trouble. The Grand Touring is the top trim, adding leather upholstery and a power moonroof that the Touring skips. Its 2.5L I4 makes 157 horsepower and works with a five-speed automatic, which feels eager around town but gets 24 mpg combined.
