Miles Overview
The 2022 Forester is a compact SUV that puts standard all-wheel drive and a tall greenhouse ahead of style, competing with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. The Forester handles with a light, accurate feel that makes it easy to place in traffic, though acceleration is modest when merging onto highways. The ride is absorbent over most surfaces, and the seats are supportive for long trips, making it a comfortable daily driver. Cargo space is generous for the class, and the boxy shape means the rear seats fold flat for bulky items like furniture or camping gear. The Wilderness adds a raised suspension, all-terrain tires, and dual-function X-MODE that the Sport and Limited trims don't get, making it the most off-road-capable Forester. The Wilderness-exclusive suspension gives you 9.2 inches of ground clearance and better approach and departure angles, but the ride is firmer on pavement than other Forester trims.
