Miles Overview
The 2013 Forester is Subaru's compact SUV, a practical pick for buyers who need all-weather capability without a big footprint. The cabin is straightforward and a bit dated, but the rear seat folds flat easily and the cargo area swallows gear for a family trip. Owners report strong reliability, with the main gripes being soft paint and a windshield that can crack on rough roads. The base 2.5X skips the Premium's alloy wheels and fog lights to keep the price down, but you still get Subaru's full-time all-wheel drive. Its 2.5L I4 makes 170 horsepower and works with a four-speed automatic, which is geared for low-end grunt rather than highway passing. Fuel economy is 23 mpg combined, which is solid for an AWD SUV of this era.
