Miles Overview
This Forester is Subaru's compact SUV, the one that started the modern crossover craze with its tall roof and big windows. The boxer engine keeps the center of gravity low, so it corners flatter than most tall SUVs and feels stable at highway speeds. The ride is a bit bumpy over rough pavement, which is the trade for that planted, car-like handling. The cabin is roomy for the size, with a big cargo area and those handy rear cup holders that keep kids from squabbling. If you want a straightforward Forester without the Premium trim's extra cost, this 2.5X gives you the same capable all-wheel-drive platform and a manual gearbox. You get a manual transmission here, which the 2.5X Premium and Limited don't offer, so if rowing your own gears matters this is the one to pick.
