Miles Overview
The Impreza is Subaru's compact car, offered as a sedan or wagon, with the WRX and WRX STI as the performance versions. The cabin is functional but basic, with some hard plastics and a rear seat that's tight if front passengers are tall. Owners note head gasket failures can occur on some engines, and road noise gets noticeable at highway speeds. The WRX STI is the range-topping performance Impreza, sitting above the standard WRX with a stiffer suspension, a driver-controlled center differential, and larger brakes. Its 2.5L pairs with a manual transmission and all-wheel drive, giving you sharp throttle response and tenacious cornering grip on pavement or gravel. The STI's adjustable center differential lets you shift torque bias on the fly, a feature you won't find in the standard WRX.
