Miles Overview
The Outlander Sport is Mitsubishi's smallest SUV, slotting below the Outlander and Eclipse Cross in the compact crossover class. It competes with subcompact crossovers like the Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Kia Seltos. The Outlander Sport handles city streets with ease, though its modest engine means highway merging requires planning. The ride is composed over smooth pavement, but the cabin lets in noticeable road noise on coarse surfaces. Inside, the Outlander Sport offers a straightforward layout with comfortable front seats and a decent amount of cargo space for its size. Stepping up to the SE from the base ES adds 18-inch two-tone wheels, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The 2.0L I4 pairs with a CVT and four-wheel drive, and the 148 horsepower is enough for around-town errands but needs a firm foot on the gas for highway passes. The SE includes a Drive Mode Selector that lets you choose between Normal, Tarmac, Gravel, and Snow settings to match the surface.
