Miles Overview
The Outlander is Mitsubishi's compact SUV, and it's one of the few in its class that can seat seven when you fold up the third row. It rides smoothly over rough pavement, which owners say makes it a comfortable daily driver, even in construction zones. Cargo space is generous, and the rear seats fold flat to open up a large, easy-to-clean load area. Some owners report intermittent issues like a finicky key fob and occasional airbag warnings, so it's worth a thorough check. The ES is the value pick, giving you the same comfortable ride and seven-passenger seating as the SEL for less money, but you skip the power driver's seat and upgraded audio. Its 2.4L I4 makes 166 horsepower, and with front-wheel drive and the automatic transmission it's relaxed rather than quick, but it returns 27 mpg combined. The ES comes with a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay, which is a nice upgrade over the previous year's base system.
