Miles Overview
The CX-50 is Mazda's rugged-styled compact crossover, slotting between the CX-5 and CX-30 with a wider stance and more adventurous look. It takes on the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Subaru Forester, but with sharper steering and a more premium cabin than any of them. The CX-50 feels planted and eager through corners, with quick, precise steering that makes it the most engaging drive in its class. The ride is firm and controlled, which pays off in handling but means you'll feel sharper bumps more than in softer rivals. Inside, the cabin uses high-quality materials and a clean design, with comfortable seats and a straightforward infotainment system. The S Select Package is the most affordable way into a CX-50, with cloth seats and a smaller touchscreen than higher trims, but you still get the same sharp handling and standard all-wheel drive. Its 2.5L I4 makes 187 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, delivering smooth, willing power that feels lively around town, and it returns 28 mpg combined. You can add the optional Convenience Package for a power driver's seat and a sunroof, but the S Select keeps things simple and well-priced as is.
