Miles Overview
The X3 M is BMW's hot version of its compact SUV, the one that trades a little everyday comfort for serious track capability. It's the kind of SUV that shrinks around you on a back road, with sharp steering and a chassis that stays flat through fast corners. Inside you get heavily bolstered sport seats, a thick-rimmed wheel, and the same practical cargo space as the regular X3. Expect to feed it premium fuel and watch the gas gauge drop quickly, and budget for pricey tires and brakes. A firmer suspension, unique wheels, and a power bump to 473 horsepower set the Competition apart from the base X3 M. Its 3.0L I6 pairs with eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and you'll see 16 mpg combined at the pump.
