Miles Overview
The 2011 X5 M is BMW's high-performance take on its mid-size luxury SUV, the one that trades a bit of everyday ease for serious speed. The ride is firm and the cabin is snug for a family hauler, but the payoff is cornering that defies its bulk. You still get a usable cargo area and rear seats that fold flat, so it can do SUV duty when you're not chasing lap times. Its 4.4L I8 makes 555 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, routed through a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that claws at the pavement. You'll see 14 mpg combined at the pump, which is the price for that kind of SUV speed.
