Miles Overview
The X5 M is BMW's high-performance version of the mid-size X5 SUV, the one you cross-shop with the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 and the Audi RS Q8. It's brutally quick off the line, and the chassis stays composed even when you push hard into a corner. The ride is firm, which is the trade-off for the flat cornering and crisp steering you get in return. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in premium materials, with supportive M sport seats and room for five. Its 4.4L V8 makes 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, routed through eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and returns 15 mpg combined. You can option the Competition with M carbon ceramic brakes, which resist fade better on track days.
