Miles Overview
This is BMW's high-performance compact SUV, the one that takes the everyday X3 and turns it into a proper track-day toy. The steering is sharp and the chassis stays flat through fast bends, though the ride is firm and you'll feel every expansion joint. Inside you get the usual X3 practicality, with a roomy back seat and a cargo area that swallows a weekend's gear, plus BMW's latest iDrive on a big touchscreen. The X3 M is the hardcore version of BMW's compact SUV, and the base trim skips the Competition pack's extra 30 horses and track-focused tuning to save you about seven grand. You get BMW's M-specific suspension with adaptive dampers, and the trade-off is a ride that's stiff enough to rattle your fillings on rough pavement.
