The Model Y is Tesla's compact electric SUV, sized between the Model 3 sedan and the Model X. It drives with the same instant, effortless acceleration Tesla is known for, and the low center of gravity from the battery keeps it planted. You get a tall hatchback body with a roomy cabin, a usable rear seat, and a large cargo area under the power liftgate. Every Model Y has the big central touchscreen that controls nearly everything, plus Autopilot's adaptive cruise and lane centering as standard. The Long Range gives up the Performance's quicker acceleration and track mode, but saves thousands and still gets you the same dual-motor all-wheel drive. Its dual electric motors produce instant torque and a 0-60 mph time of 4.8 seconds, with an EPA-rated 316 miles of range on a full charge.
